Fees & Appointment Information.
-
Therapy is currently available at Spring Hill in Brisbane, or via Telehealth.
The Australian Psychological Society recommended rate for seeing a psychologist is $318 for a 50-minute session. However, fees are set at the discretion of the individual psychologist.
My standard fee is $270 for 50-minute sessions (plus transaction fees).
Extended sessions are available at your request, which are 75 minutes, charged at $405.
Intensive EMDR Therapy sessions are available at your request, charged at $270 per 50 minutes, and are of a duration of 2x standard appointments+.
Rebates may be available - view the sections on Medicare Rebates and Private Health Insurance Rebates below.
-
You may attend sessions as a private client; i.e., you do not require a referral from your GP to attend psychology sessions. As a private client, the full fee for sessions are payable by you.
-
You will have to access Medicare rebates for therapy sessions with a valid referral from a medical doctor. The Medicare rebate is $145.25 per session, for up to 10 sessions per calendar year; as such, you will be out-of-pocket $124.75 per session. The full fee of $270 is paid by you in session, with rebates processed directly for you following payment of the full session fee.
If you intend on obtaining a referral, please visit your doctor prior to booking in your first session.
Please note, I work on the assumption that we will engage in treatment based on your goals and your presentation, where most often more than 10 sessions will be required. As such, I suggest budgeting for therapy based on the full (private) cost of sessions. If this is not feasible for you, please raise this with me in our first session together so that we can align your goals for therapy with realistic treatment outcomes based on your ability to commit to therapy.
-
Payment is due at the time of the consultation, and is deducted automatically from the credit or debit card details obtained prior to the booking. If you have any concerns about being able to pay the full session fees, please contact me prior to booking.
For those obtaining Medicare rebates, these are processed after the session fee is paid, and are generally received from Medicare the following business day.
For privately paying clients, I may ask you to pre-pay for your initial session. This is refundable up to 48 hours prior to the initial appointment.
-
If you have private health insurance you may be eligible to claim rebates, depending on your level of cover. You can claim directly with your insurer after your session, following payment of your session.
You are unable to use your private health insurance if you are already accessing Medicare rebates for your session.
-
At least 48 hours notice is required if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you cancel within 48 hours of your appointment, or fail to arrive for your scheduled appointment, the standard session fee will be incurred, which is $270 (plus transaction fees). Rebates cannot be claimed for sessions cancelled.
For your convenience, sessions can be changed to Telehealth up to 10 minutes before the scheduled session time. Additionally, if we can reschedule your appointment to a mutually suitable time within the same calendar week, you will not be charged the cancellation fee.

I hold standard (50 minutes) and selected extended 75-minute appointments between Mondays-Thursdays 8am-3pm (last appointment 2pm).
Intensive EMDR sessions are available on Fridays only, of durations of 2x standard appointments+.
I do not offer out-of-hours support, and sessions are available by appointment only.
I will aim to offer you a dedicated appointment time (e.g., Mondays at 8am) that will occur at an agreed-upon interval (e.g., weekly), and this timeslot will be held for you on an ongoing basis, until such a time as we decide to make a change, or finish our work together.
